A Paragraph on a Great Poet / My Favorite Poet

Write a paragraph about your idea of a great poet. Think of a particular poet you have known. Describe his early life, his political life, his poetical works and his death.

I have known a number of poets. But among them, Kazi Nazrul Islam is my favorite poet. He is a great poet in Bangla literature. Kazi Nazrul Islam was born in 1899 in Churulia, Burdwan district. He lost his father in childhood. At the age of ten, he was admitted to a primary school but he was not attentive to studies. Later on, he fled away to Asansole. From a baker’s shop, he was taken to Mymensingh for education by a Muslim police Inspector. He also fled away from there and joined a local high school. He left school suddenly and joined the Bengal Regiment during the Second World War. He started writing poetry during the war. After the war, he came back to Calcutta and devoted himself to the cause of literature. His ‘Augni Beena’, ‘Bisher Banshi’, ‘Sarbohara’, ‘Bulbul’, ‘Sindhu Hindol’ etc. were published one after another. His poems were full of the spirit for independence. He was a rebel poet and poet of the people. He voiced against injustice tyranny etc. He died in 1976 in Dhaka. He was a great patriot. He has been honored as our national poet.

A Great Man / A Good Leader Paragraph

Write a paragraph about your idea of A Great Man (your favorite leader). Think of a particular man you have known. Describe his boyhood, his education and his political career.

I have known about many great men. Among them, I love Fazlul Huq most. He is better known as Sher-e-Bangla that is the tiger of Bangla. His name is ever fresh in our hearts. He came from a noble family in Barisal. His father Wazed Ali was a reputed pleader of the Barisal Bar. He was a good student. He had uncommon talents. He passed the Entrance Examination in the first division. He took his M.A. and B.A. degree with credit from Calcutta University. In 1924, he became a minister of the Government of Bengal. In 1933 he was elected the first Muslim mayor of Calcutta. In 1936, he became the Prime Minister of Bengal. As a Minister, he set up many schools and colleges and encouraged the Muslims of Bengal for education. He was a great patron of learning. He was really a great man and a great patriot. He died on the 27th of April 1962. The people of Bengal could not forget him for what he had done for them and the country.
