Introduction: Everybody has a favorite subject. It is the subject with which he is the most comfortable. Different people like different subjects. Some like literature, some like history, some like physics, some like mathematics, some like biology, and so on. I also have a favorite subject. It is English.

Why English is My Favorite Subject: There are some reasons behind my liking this subject. The main reason is that English literature is very rich. I can get much pleasure by reading books written by English writers. Moreover, English is the most widely used language in the present world. As a result, it gives me the freedom to communicate with other people of different races, and cultures. Furthermore, good books of many other languages are regularly translated into English. By practicing English I get the chance to read books in other languages as well.

Activities: I regularly study English. I try to read the English newspapers daily. I spend about one hour reading a newspaper. By doing so, I can learn many new English words and sentence patterns. I also get familiar with new developments in news and events. I read my English books and learn the words, sentence patterns, and grammatical rules. Sometimes, I try to read other English books of literature as well.

Problems: There are some problems I face while studying English. I come across many new words while reading English newspapers or other English books. It is very bothering to find out the meanings of the words in the dictionary. I also face new grammatical structures and idiomatic expressions that I cannot understand. For such matters, I consult with my English teacher and get the problems solved.

Conclusion: I firmly believe that learning English is important for everybody. In the present world, this language is a must for everybody to prosper in one’s academic and professional careers.
