Kinds of Newspapers: There are many kinds of newspapers. They are the dailies, weeklies, monthlies, and quarterlies. The daily newspapers contain news and views about daily affairs. Other papers publish news, stories, poems, essays, etc.
Usefulness or Importance: A newspaper is very helpful to us. It brings news of home and abroad. The economic situation of a country is described in it. Introduction: The newspaper is a very important element of our modern life. It is a publication regularly printed and distributed. It contains news, opinions, advertisements, and other items of general interest. It is in fact, a storehouse of knowledge.
History: The first newspaper was published in Venice. There was no newspaper in this subcontinent before the advent of the English. The first newspaper in India was the “Indian Gazette”. The first Bengali newspaper was “Samachar Darpan”. Now we have a huge number of newspapers in Bangladesh.
Types of Newspaper: There are many kinds of newspapers that come out daily, weekly, fortnightly, monthly, six-monthly, and yearly. The daily newspapers provide us with news, current affairs, and present importance.
Some Newspapers in Present Bangladesh: Some of the remarkable daily newspapers in Bangladesh are The Bangladesh Observer, The Daily Star, The Independence, The Daily Prothom Alo, The Daily Amar Desh, The Daily Sangram, The Daily Sangbad, The Daily Janakantha, The Daily Jugantor, etc. Some of the weekly newspapers are The Weekly Robbar, The Weekly Purnima, The Weekly Jai Jai Din, etc.

Today we all read newspapers. There was a time when reading newspapers was considered a sign of modernity, importance, and fashion. At that time very few people read newspapers. And those who read were mainly educated, rich or important people in the society. But times have changed. Nowadays, rich and poor, high and low, highly educated and low educated, almost everyone looks at the pages of newspapers for various kinds of the necessary information. Keep the news, or stay behind—this is the order of current time. So, who will want to get lost in the dark cavern of ignorance?
